Gave my NPC some unique items to carry and when I got back to Respite, they did not have them (pack was empty). I checked all my containers and those items were not inside. I'm assuming that they found some other container somewhere and dumped them in.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.
To clarify, have you adjusted your NPC's behaviour permissions to prevent them from adding resources to Build Encounters or to Fuel Stations?
