Death Screen Stuck on 1 Second Merged

Needing a bio break, I placed my avatar in a relatively secure position, blocking the only potential approach with a campfire. When I returned, I found a Mortissa Moris (You Died) screen with 1 second to go. Clicked around, hit every key on the keyboard, caught up on the news...nothing worked. If there is a secret key combination to get out of the death screen, you might consider disclosing it. Regardless, being stuck in the death screen is definitely not fun and definitely a bug.
