My game freezes when I am downed

When fighting at the top of large structures, both fae towers and the towers that one needs to climb to unlock the different type of card types, I have unfortunately become incapacitated before I was able to revive my follower. It is at this point that everthing but the interface lock up and become unresponsive. While I am able to select to give up, it loads the "momento mori" respawn screen but it too is frozen with the countdown never initiating. The only thing I seem to be able to do is exit the game, which oddly allow my game to resume as I see character models resume movement as the game quits out.
