Animal Logic Behaving Strangely

I don't know if this is reproducible with other animal types but I was hunter widower spiders in a swamp hunt realm and the strangest thing happened. The spider started jetting away from me. It went so fast that it was mostly just warping around visually. It ran from me to the end of the map, the faster I followed, the faster it moved away.I was never able to catch it.
