As the post name implies, I have been having issues with hitting Esc or J for the Guidebook. Instead of the mouse being able to move, my character continues to move in the background. If I press the Win key to get out of the game while keeping it active and go back in, it will begin to work.
Hi there,
We're still looking into this but for trackability and to increase post traction, we'll be merging this post into another post about the same issue.
We will be adding your repro steps in the comments of that post, as it aligns with the experience other players have commented.
Thank you for your continued communication on this issue!
OK I think I've got this nailed down. I've managed to reproduce the issue and it seems to be related to a delay when switching weapons. I can best reproduce the bug by changing from one weapon to another and hitting TAB to enter the inventory before the character switches to the new weapon.
I have a similar sounding issue. When I enter the character menu (mapped to TAB) the mouse cursor sometimes fails to appear, and as the posting member "Guest" has noted, moving the mouse causes the character portrait to move. I've even attacked nearby structures by accident doing this. I've noticed that CTLR-ESC can help by "unfocussing" the game and allowing Windows to render in the position of the mouse cursor. With this knowledge I have been able to click on the "close" button to close the inventory and open it again.
Hi there,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. To clarify, while using the keyboard do you also have any controllers connected to your PC? Have you implemented any custom keybinding?
