There's so many fantastic outfits in this game, just to start. Our beginning outfits are so nice and fancy and I never want to take them off. So as much as I love the crafting system and how different material affect colors...
I really think it works against the aesthetics of the game. I honestly believe the strengths of this game lie in how things look and feel. As for look, it is currently difficulty to wear anything that is unique that is also really powerful. Fashion shouldn't take a backseat for the sake of power.
So my recommendations are:
Make it so making lower tier outfits with higher tier materials is more useful
Flat out just remove the tiering system from outfits themselves and focus on the materials used.
Make some sort of "Fashion" system where we can make outfits look like other outfits.
Any one of these will have problems so I get that. But ultimately, I just wanna wear outfits like the dress from the character create screen or the jaunty gear for most of the game. I want to be recognizable and unique!
This would be great.
It would be really nice if the clothing made was fully dependent on materials put in.
It encorages diversity in player clothing by encoraging players to be able to make clothing from any recipe found, not just the cloths from the watch and found later on.
+ 1 for Transmorg rather than tierless, with a dye system.
Other games I have played have the notion of cosmetics where you can put anything in a cosmetic slot and have that be the appearance even though the base clothing item is what provides the stats
+1 for transmog
