Apex Realms are not fun

Why are we being forced to play with other people in the Apex Realms? My fiance and I have been thoroughly enjoying and loving the game so far, but the Apex Realm forced multiplayer with other people is simply just not enjoyable. We don't get to play at the pace we like playing at because others are steamrolling ahead and not only do we miss out on alot of the resources we came in there for in the first place, we also miss out on the majority of the experience that the Apex Realms have to offer. It would be much more enjoyable if you didn't get thrown in there with random people that aren't even in your party. It is simply not a fun experience and really takes away from what it could be. This has quickly become our very favourite game and we'd love it if we weren't being forced to play with random people. Much love

Yeah, I can see this sentiment. The structure of the game and vaults, in particular, seem to encourage competitive speed-runs. Some people do this more aggressively than others but it's kinda contagious somehow. Doesn't help that you need to complete the vaults A LOT of times to get anywhere.

Private vaults are the way to go there. Once you're good enough, you can even increase the difficulty, getting much more essence and better resources. I discovered this way too late, too. Although you need very good gear for extreme.

I think the game could do a better job matching people. It shouldn't be hard detecting what kind of pace one plays at. It should also be possible to select on the entrance whether one wants to compe.. cooperate in public vaults or not. Gate switches or some such. Alternatively, a setting in the options would be nice.

You don't have to play with others in Apex realms at the Watch.

You can make a private 'Apex Realm' vault to run through either solo or with a party you form.

There is a 'vault' card that you can craft that allows you to open a portal to a private vault. You can also set the vault difficulty. It thus has the potential to offer better loot then what you can get from the vaults at the watch.

What might help for the game, is something more clear that explains to players new to the watch how the vault cards work and how they are an option in addition to the vaults accessible from the Watch.
