There are some recipes in game that require not just a given resource type, but one that belongs to a particular subcategory of said type -- not just an Ingot but an Alloy or Precious Metal, not just a Plant but a Fruit or Flower, and so on. While I enjoy the added texture this gives to the world and to crafting, this can also cause friction and frustration when the player is unfamiliar with the real-world equivalent -- or when the material is a fictional one. If someone doesn't know what an alloy is, how much trial and error will they have to endure before realizing it indicates two combined metals? I know Gold and Silver are Precious Metals, but my real-world knowledge fails me when trying to figure out if Einaida or Kyrosophian ingots are considered Precious as well.
I suggest that materials with system-relevant Subproperties have them clearly listed in the item description tooltip, or possibly within a right-click -> Inspect action if the tooltip space is too restrictive.
