Fae Tower Desert Herberium Puzzle needs work

Somehow I finally got the upper wall/door to open after endlessly wandering around taking damage from the red square and circle traps on the floor. Is that supposed to be part of the solution? I still have no clue about how we are supposed to solve the "puzzle.' It's frustrating and monotonous not having the slightest clue about how to solve this. How about providing some type of clue about how to get the doors open. I hated this one to be honest. The thought of quitting the game entered my mind. Needs work please. Thanks
