Torch goes out when gathering certain materials Merged

While exploring at night, I wound up fighting some creatures. When I went to harvest the resources they dropped, my torch went out while I was collecting it, and then relight after the gather animation stops. The repeated change in lighting makes it extremely difficult to see both while dark and shortly after it reignites. I've noticed this while gathering bones, hide, meat, gunpowder, and essence. It doesn't happen when I'm gathering rocks, sticks, edible plants, or plant fiber. I thought it might be a design choice at first, but the fact that it only occurs while gathering certain resources leads me to believe it's a bug. I am still fairly early in the game, so I have not been able to test to see if it occurs in all regions or all torches.
